Today, I share with you the untold story behind a song close to my heart - "Mumma." It is a composition that encapsulates the profound love and eternal connection between a mother and her daughter.

In the depths of grief, after my beautiful mothers passing, I found solace in the creation of "Mumma.”. It is a tribute to the woman who shaped my existence and guided me with her wisdom and kind heart.

The creation of "Mumma" holds immense significance in my life. I first composed the initial version of the song when I was just 16 years old, dedicated to my beloved mother Wendy. It quickly became her favorite, and throughout the years, it’s tender melody would fill our home with love. However, on the day she departed, a surge of emotions and memories flooded my being. In that moment of profound loss, I found solace in music, and a new and extended version of "Mumma" was born. With a trembling voice and a heart heavy with grief, I sang it to her lifeless form, a final tribute to our unbreakable bond and a testament to the enduring power of her love. I stood by her side, singing the song with tears streaming down my face. It was a deeply emotional and intimate moment as I bid her farewell. The pain of her loss is indescribable, and even now, I am still navigating life without her. Yet, her presence remains strong, her love intertwined with every fiber of my being.

 In the wake of my parents' passing, I began to experience inexplicable signs from the other side. My mother, who Passed away in Europe, sent Red-Breasted Robins as messengers of her continued presence. These beautiful birds would visit me, tapping on windows, singing their enchanting melodies as if to reassure me that she was still by my side.

Even after I brought my mother's ashes back to Australia, the Yellow-Breasted Robin, native to this land, came to me. It flew into her house, allowing me to hold it for a while before setting it free. This gentle encounter became a symbol of her enduring love and connection.

But the signs did not end there; during my mother's memorial, my sister, who had witnessed her passing, had found solace outside, seeking comfort from the overwhelming emotions. And there, a Red-Breasted Robin perched on a nearby tree, serenading her with its song. Little did she know that the same Robins had been visiting me as well, bridging the physical and spiritual realms.

These encounters affirmed that the bond between loved ones transcends time and space. The veil between our world and the next thins, and the signs are there for those who are open to receive them.

As I share this intimate part of my musical journey with you, my cherished community, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Your presence and support have fuelled my creative endeavours, and I am honoured to touch your lives through my music.
